Lugares - Ecovila Viva! / Places - Viva Ecovillage!

O nome é uma boa tradução para qualificar a Ecovila Viva! Quem visitar a comunidade, na zona rural de Juiz de Fora, vai notar a intensa movimentação de pessoas trabalhando. A proposta é ousada: uma ecovila incubadora de empreendimentos sustentáveis como uma horta orgânica, um viveiro de mudas, um cultivo de shitake, uma fábrica de brinquedos e instrumentos musicais de madeira e bambu, para citar alguns. Tem até um projeto de artesanato com taboas (uma planta aquática que cresce nos brejos da região) com a comunidade próxima, também em funcionamento.

A iniciativa da ecovila é recente, com menos de dois anos. A estrutura básica ainda está sendo construída na filosofia de Bioconstrução: um escritório, uma cozinha comunitária, um galpão para atividades diversas, um banheiro seco. A casinha de alvenaria que já exista na propriedade serve de escritório e base de apoio. A energia utilizada ainda é a da rede elétrica convencional.

Os planos da Ecovila incluem a criação de uma moeda local, a Viva!, que facilitará as trocas internas e ajudará a manter os recursos na própria região. Atualmente moram apenas três pessoas na Ecovila, mas há espaço suficiente para que no futuro hajam mais moradores na propriedade.

Há muito o que fazer, então vale conhecer primeiro as diferentes possibilidades de trabalho para depois propor algo que seja útil e ao mesmo tempo te agrade. Como ainda falta estrutura, quem quiser se voluntariar lá por um tempo tem que levar a própria barraca. The name means a lot to qualify Ecovila Viva! (“viva” means living in Portuguese): who visits the community, located in the rural area of Juiz de Fora/MG – southeast of Brazil – will observe an intense traffic of people working. The proposal is audacious: an ecovillage as a nursery of sustainable enterprises as an organic farming, a hatchery of seeding, a shitake growth, a manufactory of toys and musical instruments made out of wood and bamboo, to name some of them. They also develop a project of handicrafts using taboa (a plant that grows in swamps) with the local community.

The iniciative of the ecovillage is recent, less than two years. The basic buildings are under construction, based the philisofy of Bioconstruction: an office, a communitary kitchen, a warehouse for common activities, a dry toilet. The little house of brickwork already existent in the property is now used as an office.

The plan of the ecovillage include the conception of a local currency, the Viva!, wich will help the local exchanges and will avoid the resources to run away the area. Nowadays are just three people living in the ecovillage, but there is room available to new houses.

To get there: if you are a pushful person, you will feel just fine in the Viva Ecovillage. There is a lot to do, so at first you can get to know all the current activities and then you can do something useful and pleasant for you at the same time. As there is a lack of structure, you have to carry you own tent in order to be a volunteer there. Ressaca de SWU / SWU Hangover

Encontrar os amigos, curtir shows inéditos no Brasil, e ainda por cima num evento sustentável? Parecia bom demais pra ser verdade. E era.

O SWU – festival de música com apelo de sustentabilidade ocorrido em Itu nesta semana - foi uma decepção. Me senti roubado. Fiquei espantado com a minha própria ingenuidade, achando que pudesse ser diferente disso. Ainda bem que já escreveram reclamando do festival, de forma melhor do que eu faria e em mídias com maior cobertura. A única coisa que eu não ouvi ninguém dizer foi sobre o esquema paralelo de chuveiro clandestino DENTRO da área do camping. Por R$10 você podia tomar banho e usar o banheiro, já que o oferecido pela organização só era acessível depois de filas de até duas horas, dependendo do horário. Detalhe estranho: o banho clandestino aceitava fichas do próprio Festival!!! Surreal.

Porém, nem tudo foi tristeza no SWU. Além de alguns bons shows na arena principal, o movimento do camping foi memorável: violão, atabaque, espontaneidade, muita música, amizade e celebração no “palco grama”. Apesar de tudo, os freqüentadores dos campings deram exemplos de bom humor, resistência pacífica e partilha. Isso também vai ficar na memória. The SWU – music festival dressed in a sustainable appeal wich took place in Itu (São Paulo - Brazil) was a delusion. I felt robbed, scared by my own naivety, thinking that things could be different than that. Fortunately many people wrote about the Festival complaining in a better way than I would do and in bigger medias. The only thing I didn´t listen at all was about the clandestine bathroom/shower INSIDE the camping area. For R$10 you could take a shower and use the bathroom, once by the one offered by the Festival could take up to two hours, depending when you search for it. Strange detail: the clandestine bathroom accepted cards from the own Festival!!! Surreal.

However, not everything was sadness in the SWU. Besides some good shows in the main stage, the people of the camping were remarkable: acoustic guitars, drums, spontaneous manifestations, lots of friendships and celebrations in the “grass stage”. Besides everything, people of the camping areas were a good example of good mood, pacific resistance and share. And it will sticks to my memory. Formação em Ecovilas / Ecovillage course

Divulgando curso de Formação de Ecovilas, baseado no programa do Educação Gaia, a ser realizada na Ecovila Terra Una. O curso é imersivo, intensivo e dura uma semana (mais detalhes no folder).

Lugares - Ecovila Terra Una / Places - Terra Una Ecovillage

Terra Una é uma ONG e uma ecovila, localizada no sul de Minas nas montanhas do município de Liberdade, na Serra da Mantiqueira. O local é um convite à contemplação e meditação, com matas, vista do alto do morro e cachoeiras. A “alma” de Terra Una é formada basicamente por um grupo de amigos que resolveram sair da cidade em busca de uma experiência de vida que os permitisse viver na prática novos conceitos para a restauração planetária. A ecovila está em fase inicial, com enorme potencial de expansão. Atualmente a infra-estrutura é pequena e os espaços comuns estão sendo ampliados. Alguns moradores também já iniciaram a construção de suas casas.

Terra Una tem membros de diferentes formações, com forte vocação educacional. Eles realizam cursos como o de Design para a Sustentabilidade (em parceria com a organização internacional Gaia Education) e estão envolvidos em outros projetos, como o de residência artística.

Para ir: a ecovila recebe visitantes em semanas específicas, abertas a quem quiser ir. Cada pessoa paga uma taxa referente à alimentação (ovolactovegetariana) e contribui com trabalhos como a preparação de refeições e organização de espaços comuns. Você também pode propor trabalhos específicos ou oferecer suas habilidades quando estiver lá (exemplo: dar aulas de yoga, organizar mutirões, ajudar em alguma construção, etc).

Terra Una is either an ecovillage and an NGO, located in the mountains of Mantiqueira´s Ridge, in the south of Minas Gerais State (Brazil). The place is an invitation to contemplation and meditation, surrounded by the forest, with amazing sightseeings from the top of the hills and waterfalls. The “soul” of Terra Una is basically formed by a group of friends who decided to abandoned the city in a quest for an experience that could allowed them to live new concepts to the planetary restoration. The ecovillage is just beginning, with huge potential to expand. Infra-structure is still maidenlike and the common spaces are being improved. Some of the villagers already started to build their houses.

Terra Una has members of different backgrounds, with strong educational skills. They organize courses like Design in Sustainability (in partnership with the international organization Gaia Education) and involved in other projects such artistic residence.

To get there: the ecovillage hosts visitors in specific dates, opened to anyone who wants to go. Each person pays a tax to cover the meals (ovolactovegetarian) and contributes to works as preparing food and organizing common spaces. You can also porpose specific jobs or offer your skills (examples: teaching yoga, being part of a task force, constructing buildings, etc). Design em Sustentabilidade / Design in Sustainability

Recomendado por quem faz: Design em Sustentabilidade, promovido pela Gaia Education (www.gaiaeducation.net) é um curso inovador, prático e transformador. Inovador porque se vale das experiências de ecovilas em todo o mundo, comunidades de vanguarda que testaram na prática soluções sustentáveis. Prático porque promove oportunidades de vivências em iniciativas já existentes, além de um estágio em uma ecovila. E transformador porque parte do princípio de que a mudança real começa “de dentro pra fora”, o que é bastante abordado no curso: eu comigo, eu com o outro e eu com o Universo.

Um aspecto importante do curso é a coragem de abordar a Espiritualidade, pela importância que tem na determinação dos outros aspectos da vida. Ela é tratada de forma delicada, com naturalidade e leveza, sem pieguismo, com respeito às tradições existentes mas sem nenhum dogma ou condicionamento.

O curso de Design em Sustentabilidade se divide tem quatro módulos que se complementam: social, econômico, ecológico e visão de mundo. No Brasil, o curso é organizado pela equipe da Ecovila Terra Una (www.terrauna.org.br).

Innovative because it comes from experiences in ecovillages all over the world, vanguard ecovillages which tested solutions on field. Practical because it promotes opportunities of working on an ongoing experience, besides an internship in a real ecovillage. And transforming because it begins from the statement that the real change starts inside out: me with myself, me with the other and me with the Universe.

An important dimension of the course is the courage to deal with Spirituality, considering the importance it has to determinate other aspects of life. Its approach is light, delicate and natural, without any slushy, respecting existing traditions but without any dogma or conditioning treatment.

O mundo sem Ninguém / Life After People

Recentemente vi um documentário no History Channel que me deixou impressionado: O Mundo sem Ninguém (Life After People, no título original). Muito bacana acompanhar o que aconteceria com o planeta se, de repente, toda a Humanidade sumisse dele. Em menos de 100 anos, boa parte das nossas imponentes cidades de prédios e outras grandes construções terão sumido. Sem a presença humana, grandes incêndios queimam as cidades, as pontes enferrujam e cedem, o asfalto racha e vai se quebrando até não existir mais, os edifícios são tomados por árvores, os córregos que estavam soterrados voltam à superfície. A Natureza vai colocando vida de volta aos espaços.

Com animações computadorizadas que vão mostrando o que acontece ao longo do tempo, o vídeo nos fez pensar em quanto somos arrogantes em achar que temos uma sólida civilização e que somos incrivelmente responsáveis pelo bem estar da Terra.

I saw recently a really good documentary in History Channel called Life After People. Very interesting to see what would happen with the world if, suddenly, all the Humankind just vanish. In less than a 100 years, good part of our amazing cities of great buildings would disappear. Without human presence, big fires would burn the cities, bridges rust and fall, the pavement fissures and cracks until no longer exists, the trees grow over the buildings, the buried creeks come back to the surface. Nature puts back life everywhere.

Made with computer images which shows the changes over the time, this video makes us think how arrogant we are in thinking we have a solid civilization and that we are incredibly responsible for the planet well being.

Movimento Zeitgeist / Zeitgeist Movement

O filme comentado aqui nem é novidade mas achei que deveria escrever alguma coisa a respeito. Há algum tempo recebi o link de um vídeo pra assistir no Youtube. Era um filme chamado Zeitgeist, feito por um jovem videomaker chamado Peter Joseph. Comecei a ver e não consegui parar. O filme questiona instituições religiosas, políticas e financeiras e anuncia o teatro em que estamos vivendo. Há quem diga que é exagero ou paranóia, que o vídeo reforça uma “teoria da conspiração”. Existem até alguns posts que refutam o filme, que também podem ser encontrados no Youtube. No entanto, a forma com que as informações foram organizadas soam no mínimo interessantes.

Há um segundo filme chamado “Zeitgeist Addendum” que fala sobre possíveis soluções e sobre um novo desenho para a cultura e civilização no planeta, com o Projeto Vênus. O filme deu visibilidade ao projeto e hoje existe um movimento mundial em torno disso. Há bastante informação no site www.zeitgeistmovement.com, com mais detalhes.

No Brasil

O movimento Zeitgeist têm representações em vários países, inclusive no Brasil. No site www.movimentozeitgeist.com.br é possível encontrar membros em cada estado, datas e locais de palestras, como participar e até material de apoio ao ativista(!).

The review about this movie is not even news, but it´s worthy to drop a line about it. Some time ago I had a link of this video on Youtube. It was a film called Zeitgeist, made by a young videomaker called Peter Joseph. I strated to see it and just couldn´t stop. The video question religion, social and economical institutions and shows up the theater we´re living in. Some might say is all about overstatement or a reinforcement of a “conspiracy theory”. There are some posts refuting it, also found on Youtube, However, the way the information were organized on the movie are at least interesting.

There is a second movie called “Zeitgesit Addenndum”, focused on possible solutions and about a new design for the civilization and the future of the Earth, within Venus Project. The movie gave visibility to the project and today there is a world movement on it. There is a lot of information on www.zeitgeistmovement.com.
